Christmas in Aurich

After heavy snowfall and other kinds of disturbances we finally managed to leave home on Christmas Eve. Michael’s flight was on time and Roberts Australian nephew arrived punctual by trein in Zwolle. Just two more hours to go before we would be in Aurich at my mother’s house. She already prepared soup and other snacks for us.
No need to say that we slept perfectly well afterwards.

On Christmas Day it started snowing again but despite of that Ulrich and Sandra arrived safely in the afternoon. And when my nephew Nils and his girlfriend Bianca arrived later on we could enjoy a very nice Christmas diner.
Boxing Day was planned to be the day for my dad and his new friend Eva. After a slightly slippery and wet winter walk we arrived a little bit too early and spent the rest of the afternoon eating and drinking. There was no way that we could walk back home…. A taxi brought us and the two dogs safely back to my mother.
Sunday was our day of rest…. After Ulrich and Sandra left, we enjoyed the day. We went for some shopping and hot chocolate milk to town… and had even more food afterwards….
Quite unbelievable but we managed to get back in our car on Monday. After a good ride we reached our home in the afternoon. That left us some time to get ready for the visit of John and Ine who wanted to see Michael, too, before he had to leave for Edingburgh on Tuesday again. And of course there was food again: Chinese Take Away…. enjoy your holidays meals!!!!
